Hello Stampers ~ are you ready for a new technique – the Ink, Spray, Smash Technique is a lot of fun!
Well this is my last day in North Carolina. I am not sure when I will be able to come back as Jess started her new job today. She will no longer be working from home so I don’t have anyone to take care of Bijou. I need to do some exploring and see if I can find someone who would come to the house and let her out and maybe then I can plan another trip. I have a few friends with dogs so I will be checking with them. If anyone knows someone who does this pass their name on to me!
Our challenge this time at Hand Stamped Sentiments was an inspiration challenge picture. I created this picture so I was all ready for some Fall ideas.
Last month I taught a Learn Something New class that used glossy card stock with different techniques. One of the techniques was call the Ink, Spray, Smash technique. Basically you take reinkers and drop them randomly onto the glossy card stock. Then you spray the card stock with water. As it starts to spread you place another piece of glossy card stock on top and smash them together. Take the top card stock and wiggle it around a bit to help with the blending of colors. Then separate your 2 pages. You end up with a gorgeous piece of card stock. We used Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, and Elegant Eggplant and here is one of the card I end up with.
After my card was dried I was ready to make my card. I began by pulling out my Seasonal Layers thinlits dies and using them to cut out my leaves. I cut as many as I could from the piece of card stock knowing that if I did not use them all I could save them in the stamp case. I thought they would be great on a piece of the Wood Textures dsp so I checked my stack and chose one. I added a piece of burlap ribbon across the top and attached this to a Crumb Cake card base. Using the linen thread I created a multi loop bow that I attached to the burlap ribbon with a glue dot. Next I added my cut out leaves using glue dots and dimensionals. My card was complete. Here is my finished creation.
