Jar of Spiders

Happy Friday Ladies ~ .I have a Pinterest inspired Jar of Spiders for you today.

I had back to back workshops yesterday and after they were finished I was tired.  I had hoped to do my video but instead I started working on my Scrapbook class samples.  I didn’t get them finished but did make a good start with them.  I have a workshop this morning and I will be making the video after that as the girls will be home tomorrow and I won’t have peace and quiet to be able to film.  Not sure what I will be doing but I will come up with something.

A friend sent me a card she found on Pinterest that she thought was cute.  I liked it also so I decided to see if I could make an updated version as the one she had sent used retired items.  The problem was the spiders.  I decided that we had to have a current stamp set that had something I could use.  I looked through my catalog and ran across the flower center in Colorful Seasons.  I decided this would work as it had 8 legs to it.  I stamped the small jar from Jar of Love using Basic Gray ink on a scrap of Whisper White.  The framelit was used to cut it out.  Using a piece of Smoky Slate I stamped the web in the upper left hand corner using Basic Gray ink.  Next I set the jar where I was planning on adding it to my card layer and stamped the spiders all over the card stock using the jar as a guide.  I stamped one spider hanging from the web at the top and drew the silk thread down to the spider.  I used the brick wall embossing folder to emboss the Smoky Slate layer.  Then using a sponge dauber and the Smoky Slate ink, I sponged some ink over the embossing to emphasize them.  This layer was added to a Whisper White card base.  I added my jar in the lower left hand corner with dimensionals so that it looks like the spiders are being dumped out.  Using another scrap of Whisper White, I stamped the banner from Sweet Home and used the matching thinlit to cut it out.  Then using Pumpkin Pie ink the sentiment was stamped inside the banner.  The banner was added using the Mini dimensionals.  Here is my completed creation.
