Late Night Stampers – favorite Color Combo for Christmas this year

Before I share my card today I wanted to show you the process used to make my stuffed ham.  You begin by parboiling cabbage, onions, red pepper, and mustard seed until the cabbage is soft.  Take your ham and cut slits in it so you can stuff the cabbage mixture in the slits.

After you get your cabbage mixture stuffed in the slits and packed around the ham you tie it up in a large piece of unbleached muslin.  Then you put it in a big pot on the stove and bring it to a boil.  Turn the temperature down so it continues to soft boil.  You boil it for 4 – 5 hours depending on the size of your ham – I had a 22 1/2 pound ham so I cooked mine for 5 hours.

After it has cooked you need to hang it so the excess water can drain out.  I usually hand mine between 2 chairs using a sawed off tool handle.  It has to drain for about 4 hours.

Once you have drained it, you need to take the fabric off of the ham and place it on a platter.  After it cools in the refrigerator you can then slice it and eat it.

Now for those who don’t really care about my stuffed ham.  Here is my card for today.

Do you have a favorite color combo that you like to use for Christmas?  This year we have some great colors with the new in-colors.  

Our challenge this week is all about favorite color combos.  We were to create a project using our favorite Christmas Color Combo this year.  Several years ago I made a card using pink and green – at the time it was the old colors so mine was Mellow Moss and Pretty in Pink.  I have loved that color combination and have used a green and a pink for a Christmas sample each year.   This year I decided to use Pretty in Pink and pair it with Always Artichoke.  I love this color combination also. 

I stamped my image on Very Vanilla as white would have been too harsh.  I used blender pens to color it in.  Love how you can get a soft color with the blender pens.  Here is my creation.

I am so looking forward to eating some of this ham.  This is usually a traditional holiday recipe for the native countians in St. Mary’s County.  Typically we do not serve it other than Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.  It is great as a sandwich on Wonder White bread.
