Hello Everyone ~ my Let it Snow Stampin’ Up Sponged Foil Snowflake card expresses my feelings today!
Well the latest forecast has us getting 2 1/2″ of snow. It will not stick as the temperature will not be below freezing. This storm is coming from the south which is where we typically get out big snow storms. If it were colder I am certain we would get more accumulation. I guess time will tell as today is supposed to be cloudy all day which will keep the temperature down.
My card today uses a foil snowflake that was featured in my October Creations of the Month you can find here. This time I decided to use the snowflake as a stencil. I took a panel of Whisper White that was 4′ x 5 1/4″. I put the snowflake on the card upside down. Then using a sponge and Soft Sky ink I sponged over the snowflake. It was easy to do. When I was finished I removed the snowflake and set it aside to dry (HINT: be watching for the sponged snowflake to appear in another card). The snowflake panel was added to a Soft Sky card base. The sentiment came from the Merry Little Labels stamp set. I inked up just the part I wanted using a Soft Sky marker. It was stamped on a scrap and then cut down to fit on punched Everyday Label Soft Sky piece. After the 2 pieces were adhered, it was attached to the card base using dimensionals. To add a little bling, I used Silver glimmer paper and cut out the 2 snowflakes from the Seasonal Layers thinlits. These were added to the card using multipurpose glue. Here is my completed Let It Snow Stampin’ Up Sponged Foil Snowflake.
