Masculine Birthday Card to Make
Happy Monday Everyone – Monday means a masculine birthday card to make.
We had a great long girls weekend! We did a lot of shopping and ate some great food. We had not been together for 2 years due to COVID. We did plan a trip for March but that will depend on what happens with shut downs. We are crossing our fingers we can do this one. This was the pic taken at one of our lunches.
Would you like a clean and simple masculine birthday card idea? The idea for this card was inspired by a clean and simple group I am in. I was working on my cards for last week and ran across the Positive Thoughts stamp set. I new I could use the fern for a masculine card idea.
I am loving the sponging technique lately to get 2 colors on images. I decided to use it for this image. I chose to use greens as they are great masculine colors. Soft Sea Foam and Shaded Spruce go together well so they were the ones I used. To extend the stamp, I inked it up and stamped it one time in the corner then cleaned it and inked it again and stamped it at the bottom of the first image. Great technique to make the image larger.
The panel was plain so I used a technique I love – adding embossing lines for some interest. It was just what I needed. It also gave me the perfect place to add my sentiment. Here are the measurements so you can create your version.
Measurement
Card Base: Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Colored Layer: Shaded Spruce 4″ x 5 1/4″
Image Layer: Basic White 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
The fern in this stamp set is great for masculine cards. Here is an idea that uses it with black and white. This one uses the fern to add texture in the background.
