Masculine Christmas Card

Masculine Christmas Card

Hello Everyone – Let’s end the week with a masculine Christmas card idea.

I love it when I can use pattern paper to design my card around. It is even better when the paper is free. This card idea was inspired by the Peaceful Prints pattern paper you can earn free during Sale-a-bration – who doesn’t love free!

When I saw the red and black checked paper I immediately thought of lumberjacks and the outdoors. That meant it had to be paired with the Peaceful Deer bundle. The paper and the bundle made this card so easy to make.

For my sentiment layer I first stamped my trees using a third generation stamping. Then I stamped the sentiment on top. Using generation stamping is a great way to add some accent behind your sentiment for emphasis. To add even more emphasis I used the die from Ornate Layers to cut it out.

The Ornate Layers die is easy to make shorter as you cut out the first time with your sentiment to the left of the die. Then move the right side of your die up to the point that you want your die cut to be cut off. Wiggle it slightly so the die locks into the holes. Add it to your die cutting machine and only add the top plate over the area you want it to cut. The majority of your die will not be under the plate. Run it through your machine and voila you have a shorter die cut. I use this idea all the time to get smaller die cut panels.

I stamped the deer onto Crumb Cake card stock using Crumb Cake ink and punched it out using the coordinating punch – so easy! The antlers are punched from Soft Suede. To finish off my card I added a Real Red knot using the satin ribbon before attaching the sentiment panel to my card front. Don’t you love how the paper made this masculine Christmas card come together?

If you know a guy who is into nautical things, you could easily make this card a Christmas card with the right sentiment. Change this card by not adding the tree tops and adding some snow at the bottom and you have another Christmas card idea for the guys.
