Monochromatic Eastern Beauty

Happy Monday Ladies ~ I would love to share my Monochromatic Eastern Beauty card with you today.

I took advantage of the kids being gone yesterday to do some video recording.  I made the video for my One Color Wonder creation for Wednesday ~ make sure you come back as you won’t want to miss it ~ as well as I started the videos for a tutorial I will have coming out in about a month.  I did make one other card.  Today I want to finish my collage as my class is coming up and I need to get the announcement out.  I have all the cards made for my workshop so I need to get that announcement out.  Then I also have to work on my newsletter.  If you are not getting my newsletter sign up using the form on the right.

Today we have the Make My Monday challenge.  For the next 2 weeks our challenge is

                                       # 51

                               Monochromatic

I began by choosing my stamp set and color.  I decided to use Perfect Plum since I had not used that much.  I also had an idea to use the Eastern Beauty bundle.  Both of these decisions were based on the sketch challenge at Fab Friday as this sketch really grabbed my attention.

I began by using the largest framelit and cut it out of Perfect Plum.  This does not cut out an image but rather an inlaid in the card stock.  I used my snips to cut out the shape.  A center was stamped using one of the stamps in the set as well as a small stamp was used on each hump.  It was then added to the Whisper White card layer.  Next I cut a strip of Perfect Plum and stamped it with the small swirl as well as sponged the edges of the strip.  The strip was attached using dimensionals.  The flower shape was stamped on Whisper White with the ink and cut out with the matching framelit.  I also used the framelit of the same shape to cut the inside petals out of each petal.  I attached the star flower to the strip using dimensionals.  Using one of the curved sentiments, I stamped it using the ink along the left side of the large circle shape.  To finish off the card I used one of the small images and stamped it in each of the 4 corners.  This card layer was then added to my Perfect Plum card base.  Naturally I had to add some bling in the center of each of the circle shapes.  Here is my Monochromatic Eastern Beauty creation.
