Non Traditional Christmas Colors

Happy Monday Everyone!

Did you all do something fun over the weekend?  The weather was beautiful.  I cut my grass yesterday.  I am hoping that I won’t have to do that too many more times.  🙂

This week at Late Night Stampers the challenge is make square cards.  I don’t often make square cards as I just don’t think of it.  This week though I will have several for you.

My square card today uses the color challenge from Card & Things

When I saw these colors I immediately thought of the background stamp I got that I had not used yet.  It is a beautiful stamp but it is also challenging to figure out how to use it.  When I looked at the stamp I saw the stamp as Crumb Cake, the wreath around the number as Blushing Bride, and the 25 as Poppy Parade.  I used the pad to color as much of the image with Crumb Cake as I could.  I know I could color over it with Poppy and it would be fine, but the Blushing Bride would not cover it so I colored the area around the wreath with the Crumb Cake marker and the wreath with Blushing Bride.  I stamped it and then cut it down.

I wanted to add the new tinsel ribbon so I punched a hole in the circle underneath the 25 and wrapped the tinsel through and tied it around the card.  Next I inked the 25 up with Poppy and stamped it on another piece of paper and punched it out.  I then punched a Poppy circle and mounted the 25 on it.  I popped this with dimensionals.  I then needed to stamp my sentiment in the frame at the top.  After layering it on Blushing Bride I added 2 Blushing Bride glitter brads and added the layer to the card.  Here is my creation.

Hope you liked my creation today.  I am thinking of using this as a workshop card but using Blushing Bride in place of the Poppy.  What do you think?  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!
