Not sure about this color combination!

Good Monday Morning to you!

I am busy getting ready for my Christmas stamp-a-stack this weekend. I took a little time out yesterday from cutting and scoring paper to create a card to post today. As you read this I am on my way to the airport to take my daughter to catch her flight back home. She has been here for a little over a week. It has been good to have her visit and I can’t wait to go visit her in Hawaii at Christmas.

I saw the sketch challenge at the Card Positioning Systems blog. I combined it with the color challenge at Cards & Things which has you using Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red. It was quite a challenge to get the blue in there but I did. To me the card is okay but not the best.

I saw on someone’s blog where they had used the scalloped oval punch to make a 3D pumpkin. I used that idea and made a 3D half pumpkin to attach to my card. After I punched my ovals I sponged the edges to give it a little depth. To make the stem I used 1/2 of the small photo corner punch and then added a thin strip of cardstock that I curled around a skewer. I added a strip of chocolate chip wide grosgrain as I felt it needed some contrast. I used the rock-n-roll technique for some of the leaves to create the 2 toned effect. This card was hard to photograph and the final colors are not the greatest as the blue does not look like Bashful Blue. My background paper is white and as you can see it looks blue. Here is the sketch and my card.

Stamps: Falling Leaves Paper: Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Very Vanilla Ink: Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red Accessories: scalloped oval & photo corner punches

If anyone can give me some hints on taking pictures I would gladly welcome them. I struggle with the backgrounds allowing me to take clear pictures. Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!
