Our Creative Stamp TV Challenges

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Good Morning! I hope everyone has their green on today. And how about dinner, are you having ham and cabbage? I will be at my crosstitch group this evening so I will have leftovers.

Today’s card combines 2 challenges. The first one is Our Creative Corner and this one has the requirements of a maximum of 3 layers (including your stamped image) and 1 type of embellishment (buttons or brads or ribbon, etc). This is actually harder than you think if you are used to using a lot of layers like me. I pulled the In Full Bloom set (I love this set and was so sad to see it retire! 🙁 ) and decided to use the bees and the daisy (I love daisies!). I was going to stamp the bees and emboss them but decided to use fun flock on them instead. I stamped them using my glue pad and then dumped th fun flock on them and pushed the flock into the glue. I then let them dry. After they were dry I colored some of the stripes with yellow and put Crystal Effects on the wings. I’m not sure you can tell from the picture but they are fuzzy which is what I wanted to achieve.

I then stamped the daisy and used Barely Banana marker to color the petals. I pulled out my Summer Sun and did a few swipes on each petal from the center out. I then went over all the petals with Barely Banana again to blend the colors. I like the variation it gives. I ended by using a gold Stardust pen to outline the petals so it was sparkly. I also used the pen on the stamped strip a the bottom as well as a green one.

To put the card together I used the Thursday Sketch Challenge from Stamp TV. This is a new site that offers video clips of techniques as well as forums with lots of good information. The site was started by GinaK designs but they have included Stampin’ Up colors in their color challenges. I have done some of their technique challenges after I have watched the videos. Check out the site by clicking on the blinkie on the sidebar (make sure you read the rest of my post first lol).

Here is the sketch and my creation.

  1. Oh I like it. So summery and great colors. Love the flower and the flowers on the bottom. How did you tie that bow? You know I love it too. Sandy
