Good Morning Ladies!
I decided that this week I would make up for the lack of posts last week. Today I have not 1 but 2 cards for you. I started playing early and plan on heading back to my craft room after I post these.
The first card used Julee’s
Mojo Monday sketch from last week. I really liked the layout and had this picture in my mind as to what I wanted it to look like. I must say as I was creating it my original idea changed quite a bit. This was because I had forgotten a couple of the elements and had to adjust. I also realized I had changed the sketch just a little to make my card. Here is Julee’s
sketch and my creation.
Stamps: Santa (TAC), JustRite Christmas Stamp Ensemble Paper: white, Metallic Gold (The Paper Company – Michael’s), Cinnamon Checks (Lasting Impressions), Holly on Green (Paper Pizazz – JoAnn’s) Ink: Palette Noir Black, Cardinal Versa Color spot, Basic Black Stampin’ Spot Accessories: Green Dauber Duo, red organdy ribbon (Pink Hedgehog), Blush Blossom – Glorious Green – Real Red – Summer Sun markers, Gold – Red – Clear Spica micro flake pens, Clear Gelly Roll pen, tag corner punch, circle Nestabilities, Imperial Paper Edgers (Fiskars), crystal effects, sticky tape, dimensionals
My second card for today uses Amy’s
Friday sketch. I used some of the elements from my card for our Christmas stamp-a-stack. I was so excited about this card as it was so cute. When I had it all finished and was copying the sketch to post I realized I did not do it exactly like the sketch. I guess I need to have my computer in front of me when I do my creating! lol Oh well, I had fun! Here is Amy’s
sketch and my creation.
Stamps: Big On Christmas, Sweet Shapes (retired), Christmas Card Verses (AmyR Stamps – CC Designs) Paper: Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, Mellow Moss, white, Willow Whimsy Stripes (Lasting Impressions) Ink: Palette Noir Black, Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy Accessories: Always Artichoke – Bravo Burgundy – Going Gray – Mellow Moss markers, Spica clear micro flake pen, Clear Sakura gelly roll pen, white with silver striped organdy ribbon (Pink Hedgehog), 1 3/8″ circle punch, sticky tape, dimensionals
Well I am off to my craft room to create my projects for my workshop this week as well as some more challenges. Thanks for sticking with me and for looking. Have a great day!
Wow I cannot believe it is Thursday already. The days are just flying by. I am busy getting ready for a craft show this weekend as well as trying to decorate and shop for Christmas. Things are getting so hectic here with both girls going to be home for Christmas. It will be lots of fun going to Michaela’s graduation and spending time with both of them.
As I was walking yesterday I planned out Amy’s
sketch in my mind. I had been thinking about it for a few days and yesterday I took some time to create my card. The problem is that what I had planned was based on a little bit different sketch. I took my idea and went with it and made it work for the sketch. Once I got the card put together it still needed something (too much blank space that looked funny to me). I tried ribbon at the top and liked it so I added the ribbon. Here is the sketch and my creation.
Stamps: Snow Swirled, Christmas Card Verses (AmyR Stamps by CC Designs) Paper: Always Artichoke, Brushed Gold, Very Vanilla, Lasting Impression PP Ink: Encore Gold, Handsome Hunter Accessories: ribbon (JoAnn’s), dimensionsals
This card had very few accessories need to make it but looks so good. Have you made any cards like that? Well I am off to work on my craft show items. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
My daughter and I had a great time. She has gotten a job and will be moving to New York so we spent a lot of time on the internet looking at apartments. We found some cute ones so we will be making a road trip after the New Year to find her some place to live.
While she was home we were talking about Christmas gifts for the girls she lives with. We had picked up some cute notebooks at Michael’s and decided to alter the front of them to reflect each girls personality. Here is what we came up with.
These were a lot of fun to make and so easy to do. I used some retired Stampin’ Up sets as well as TAC and stamps I had gotten at Michael’s. Then I added some ribbon or rhinestone brads. The key is to use sticky tape (I get mine at Taylored Expressions. It is white but it is the same as the red line tape). If you need a quick gift this is a cute one and it is easy to do.
I am very busy trying to finish up craft show items and Christmas gifts. I am going to try and do some sketch challenges and post them so you will have something to look at. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Have you ever had a paper that you didn’t know how you would use it. This card was made with some of that paper. When I pulled this paper to use I immediately thought of gold and elegance. The Snow Swirled set fit that description so I decided to use it.
I had stamped the tree and used my heat gun to set the ink. When I went to cut the image panel down the ink smeared. Obviously I did not heat it enough, so I restamped it and spent a little longer with setting it the second time. I then pulled my brushed gold paper and matched it all up with Riding Hood Red.
I used the sketch from Jen’s blog for my card. I think it made a really elegant card. Here is the sketch and my card.
Again I decorated the inside of my card. Here it is.
Stamps: Snow Swirled, North Pole Post (Whipper Snapper Designs) Paper: Brushed Gold, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, background patterned paper (Michael’s – a gift from someone and it didn’t have a name on it) Ink: Encore Gold, Riding Hood Red Accessories: scallop edge punch, ticket corner punch, designer label punch, ribbon (Pink Hedgehog), dimensionals
I am going to spend the weekend with my daughter. She will graduate from college in December and is looking for a job so I don’t know how much more time I will have with her at home. Have a great weekend and I’ll be back on Monday with some more creations. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Happy Black Friday everyone! Did everyone have a great Thanksgiving? How many of you went out shopping today to take advantage of the sales? Michaela is hoping to replace her winter clothes that were lost when the box they were in from the Italian post office ripped open. She lost her good winter coats and her nice sweaters. Now she has to buy new coats and some more sweaters. Wish her luck!
Wait until you see this card! No, don’t scroll down and not read all my info first. When I pulled this reindeer out to use it wasn’t until I had finished my card that I realized I had used it on an earlier card. I guess that means I really like the image. 🙂
This was another card just seemed to come together so easily. I gues my mojo is really cookin’! I began with the patterned paper and matched the basic card to the tree on the paper. I then needed another color to use on top and pulled out River Rock and it matched perfectly. I paired those up with Riding Hood Red (I seemed to be using this color a lot lately).
I purchased Anna Wight’s North Pole Post from Whipper Snapper Designs and it had this great saying that went perfectly with the image. I also had this great ribbon I had gotten from Michael’s. When I put it on the card it was the “piece de resistance” to tie the whole card together.
I used the sketch from Our Creative Corner for the layout. This was a great sketch with some variety to really make the card interesting. I just may use this one again. Here is the sketch and my creation.
Here is the inside of my card.
Stamps: Christmas Blocks (TAC), North Pole Post (Whipper Snapper Designs), All Year Cheer I (retired) Paper: Always Artichoke, Riding Hood Red, River Rock, white, background patterned paper (PaperWhite), Cinnamon Whimsy Stripes (Lasting Impressions) Ink: Palette Noir Black, Riding Hood Red Accessories: Always Artichoke – Ballet Blue – Bashful Blue – Bravo Burgundy – Close to Cocoa – Creamy Caramel – Real Red – Regal Rose – Rose Red markers, ribbon (Michael’s), aqua painter, dimensionals
Check back later today for another card. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
