Wait Until You See This

Yesterday I told you I was working on a special project that I would post today. Do you remember the rooster gift cards I made and shared with you last week? Well I needed some way to package them to give them to the lady. The last few weeks I have seen different card purses posted on blogs and I thought it would be fun to package my gift in one of these. Unfortunately in my search every one I found would only hold 3 x 3 cards or only 4 of the A2 size cards. Since I had 8 cards and envelopes nothing would work.

Since I could not find a template that would work, I knew I had to come up with something on my own. I searched several blogs and Splitcoast resources and used ideas from several of these to come up with my design. I began by playing with a template I had that I used for my card boxes. It was smaller than I needed so I started by increasing the size. Once I figured out the size, I realized I would need a piece of cardstock that was larger than a 12 x 12. That meant I had to use an 8 1/2 x 11 and join the 2 sides.

Once I got my box made I then need to make the closing flap. Again I played with ideas/techniques I had read on blogs and came up with my flap. Here is my gorgeous creation which will hold 8 A2 cards and envelopes!

So what do you think? Isn’t it just the cutest! I am planning on making another one for another gift set I made using Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Chocolate Lemon Pink Sorbet

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Well we are halfway through the week. Is everyone making some great plans for the weekend? I am going to my best friend’s house to spend some time with her. We have not seen each other since before Easter so we have a lot of catching up to do.
Today’s card was really fun to work on. I used the sketch from the Eat Sleep Stamp blog and my colors came from the Colour Create blog. When I started I wanted to use some of my soon to be retired designer papers. I was able to find some Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip designer papers. In my search I discovered I had no paper that used Barely Banana. When I looked in the catalog and even in past retired papers I could not find any that used Barely Banana. Because of that the only Barely Banana is a layer on my image panel. I still like the final product but would have liked to use more of the yellow. Here is the sketch and my creation.

I am working on something special to go with my rooster cards gift set. I am hoping to finish it up today and post it tomorrow. Check back to see this little bit of gorgeousness! Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

June Workshop

EDITED TO ADD 4TH CARD – SCROLL DOWN

Good Morning!
I thought I would share my June workshop cards with you. There is one more I did not have finished yesterday when I preposted this. When I get it done today I will come back and edit it in.
The first card is a 4th of July card. I saw this card on Splitcoast by KJB and I like it so I made a few changes and went with it. I am sorry to see this set retire. It was a great set.

Stamps: Independence Day Paper: Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Confetti White Ink: Brilliant Blue, Real Red Accessories: 1 1/4″ and 1 3/8″ circle punches, gold hemp (Michael’s a few years ago), sticky tape, dimensionals

The second card is a hinged card that we will use for Father’s Day.

Stamps: All Holidays, Wanted Paper: Certainly Celery, Sahara Sand, white, Delicate Dots (SAB) Ink: Bashful Blue, Sahara Sand Accessories: Embossed zig zag punch (Martha Stewart), brad (Pink Hedgehog), Perfectly Paisley Cuttlebug embossing folder, 1/16″ circle punch, dimensionals
The third card is one where I cased myself. I really liked my card I posted yesterday so I took the idea and modified it a little and created this card.

Stamps: All Holidays, God’s Beauty, French Script background (retired) Paper: Bordering Blue, Elegant Eggplant, So Saffron, white Ink: Always Artichoke, Bordering Blue, Elegant Eggplant, So Saffron, Versamark Accessories: clear embossing powder, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder, Bordering Blue & Elegant Eggplant eyelets (Pink Hedgehog),

Crop-a-dile, dimensionals

The fourth card is a shaker card. I saw this idea on Roxy’s blog. I adapted it to make a flower and I used foam tape rather than the dimensionals. I should have only stamped the sentiment in one flower rather than both but live and learn.

Stamps: Garden Greetings, Priceless Paper: Gable Green, Green Galore, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Summer Sun, white, Good Morning Sunshine DS Ink: Pixie Pink Accessories: Glorious Green & Green Galore markers, 1″ – 1 3/8″ circle – scallop edge punches, Flowers Layers #3 Sizzix die, yellow glitter, ribbon, acetate, Bow Easy, foam tape, sticky tape, dimensionals
Hope you enjoyed seeing my cards. Thanks for looking and have Terrific Tuesday!

Bashful Elegant Saffron

Today’s card is very elegant. I just started putting things together and the result was this gorgeous card.

I started with the sketch from Card Patterns. This was a fun sketch. It was an easy one to work with also. I then used the colors from Color Throwdown. This weeks colors were Barely Banana, Bordering Blue, Elegant Eggplant. When I first saw these colors together I was thinking they would be so hard to work with. I started looking through my stamp sets and remembered I had just gotten a Level 1 hostess set I had not used yet. So I pulled out God’s Beauty and here is my creation.

inside of card

Hope enjoyed today’s card. I will be working on the cards for my workshop this week. Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!

Sunday Special

Hey Everyone!

I don’t usually post on Sunday but I was working on a few cards and thought I would share them with you.

The first is a graduation card that I needed. I have a friend who’s son graduated from high school and she had a party for him last night. I made this card and found out it fits the Creative Belli blog challenge. It was a simple card and came together in about 20 minutes. Here is my creation.

=inside of card

Stamps: Cap & Sentiment (Inkadinkado) Paper: Glorious Green, Summer Sun, white Ink: Glorious Green Accessories: Glorious Green & Summer Sun markers, Glorious Green & Summer Sun brads (Pink Hedgehog), dimensionals
The second card I made was for 2 challenges. I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems. I combined it with the challenge from the Simon Says blog which was to use animals. When I saw this challenge I thought this would make a good card for the Cards for Heroes. They are always looking for kids cards and I thought this would be a cute one. I really like the way this one turned out. Here is the sketch and my creation.

Stamps: Wild About You Paper: Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, ivory, Good Morning Sunshine DS Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron Accessories: Creamy Caramel marker, Creative Memories cutting system, button (Pink Hedgehog), raffia, sponge dauber, Zots, dimensionals
Hope you liked my cards today. I am off to my craft room to finish watching the race and make some more cards for you to see. Have a “Sun”sational Sunday!
