Cute Punched Santa

My sister bought a card magazine (Paper Creations Magazine, Winter 2009) and as I was looking at it I saw a cute Santa card made using punches. I thought it would be so cute on a card so I modified it and created this card for my workshop this week. I used the sketch from Our Creative Corner and modified it a little. I love how it turned out.

After I punched the face, I used a sponge dauber to add some Pretty in Pink ink to his rosy cheeks. I then cut about 3/8″ off the bottom of the circle so it wouldn’t show when you added the moustache. I also added did the same thing to his nose so he has a nice rosy glow. And since I needed an image or embellishment in the lower left corner I added the reindeer cause Santa has to have his reindeer. Everything else is pretty straight forward. I know the girls will enjoy making him this week. Here is the sketch and my creation.

Another Amy Sketch Card

Yesterday I posted a card I had made using Amy’s sketch. I realized I had changed her sketch a little. While it is okay to change a sketch I really liked her layout and decided to use it for a card for my workshop this week.

I have been saving used dryer sheets for a while as I remember seeing a post with them. I decided to use one of the sheets as a background for a snow card. They are readily available as we all use them. To attach them to the card I used glue but found that my card warped. I know they can be attached using mono but it takes a lot. If anyone has attached them another way, please let me know as I would love to be able to use up my dryer sheets in a variety of ways.
I cut my snowflakes out with my Cuttlebug die cut using glittery felt. I found the glitter did not stay on so don’t waste your money on that just get plain felt. To add the glitter I smooshed my snowflake in my glue pad then put it in my glitter. I did not press it into the glitter as I wanted some white to show through. Everything else is pretty cut and dry. Here is the sketch again and my creation.

Stamps: Big on Christmas, Snow Swirled, Cold Play (retired) Paper: Baja Breeze, white, Ski Slope Designer Series Ink: Baja Breeze, Basic Black, Encore Silver Accessories: Going Gray – Mellow Moss – Pumpkin Pie – Real Red markers, Spica red micro flake pen, Clear gelly roll glitter pen, Cuttlebug snowflake die, Nirvana glitter (Art Glitter), glue pad, dimensionals

Isn’t this a beautiful card and don’t you wish you were coming to my workshop? Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Making Up for Last Week

Good Morning Ladies!

I decided that this week I would make up for the lack of posts last week. Today I have not 1 but 2 cards for you. I started playing early and plan on heading back to my craft room after I post these.
The first card used Julee’s Mojo Monday sketch from last week. I really liked the layout and had this picture in my mind as to what I wanted it to look like. I must say as I was creating it my original idea changed quite a bit. This was because I had forgotten a couple of the elements and had to adjust. I also realized I had changed the sketch just a little to make my card. Here is Julee’s sketch and my creation.

Stamps: Santa (TAC), JustRite Christmas Stamp Ensemble Paper: white, Metallic Gold (The Paper Company – Michael’s), Cinnamon Checks (Lasting Impressions), Holly on Green (Paper Pizazz – JoAnn’s) Ink: Palette Noir Black, Cardinal Versa Color spot, Basic Black Stampin’ Spot Accessories: Green Dauber Duo, red organdy ribbon (Pink Hedgehog), Blush Blossom – Glorious Green – Real Red – Summer Sun markers, Gold – Red – Clear Spica micro flake pens, Clear Gelly Roll pen, tag corner punch, circle Nestabilities, Imperial Paper Edgers (Fiskars), crystal effects, sticky tape, dimensionals

My second card for today uses Amy’s Friday sketch. I used some of the elements from my card for our Christmas stamp-a-stack. I was so excited about this card as it was so cute. When I had it all finished and was copying the sketch to post I realized I did not do it exactly like the sketch. I guess I need to have my computer in front of me when I do my creating! lol Oh well, I had fun! Here is Amy’s sketch and my creation.

Stamps: Big On Christmas, Sweet Shapes (retired), Christmas Card Verses (AmyR Stamps – CC Designs) Paper: Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, Mellow Moss, white, Willow Whimsy Stripes (Lasting Impressions) Ink: Palette Noir Black, Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy Accessories: Always Artichoke – Bravo Burgundy – Going Gray – Mellow Moss markers, Spica clear micro flake pen, Clear Sakura gelly roll pen, white with silver striped organdy ribbon (Pink Hedgehog), 1 3/8″ circle punch, sticky tape, dimensionals

Well I am off to my craft room to create my projects for my workshop this week as well as some more challenges. Thanks for sticking with me and for looking. Have a great day!

Robbie

Have you missed me?

Wow I cannot believe it is Thursday already. The days are just flying by. I am busy getting ready for a craft show this weekend as well as trying to decorate and shop for Christmas. Things are getting so hectic here with both girls going to be home for Christmas. It will be lots of fun going to Michaela’s graduation and spending time with both of them.

As I was walking yesterday I planned out Amy’s sketch in my mind. I had been thinking about it for a few days and yesterday I took some time to create my card. The problem is that what I had planned was based on a little bit different sketch. I took my idea and went with it and made it work for the sketch. Once I got the card put together it still needed something (too much blank space that looked funny to me). I tried ribbon at the top and liked it so I added the ribbon. Here is the sketch and my creation.

Stamps: Snow Swirled, Christmas Card Verses (AmyR Stamps by CC Designs) Paper: Always Artichoke, Brushed Gold, Very Vanilla, Lasting Impression PP Ink: Encore Gold, Handsome Hunter Accessories: ribbon (JoAnn’s), dimensionsals

This card had very few accessories need to make it but looks so good. Have you made any cards like that? Well I am off to work on my craft show items. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
