Painted Poppies Spotlighting

Hello Ladies ~ I played with a technique I have not used in quite a while with my Painted Poppies Spotlighting card.

I managed to do my Facebook Live and then worked on a few cards for the blog this week as well as the last cards for my online class.  I also worked on Jake’s blanket as I need to get it finished.  Today I am hoping to mail out the box for the girls and for Jake.  Then I need to do some grocery shopping.  After that I will see how much time I have left to see if I can work on anything that needs to be done.  Hopefully I will have some time to do one or two projects completed.

I am in a Facebook group where we are using Social Isolation to C.A.S.E. other members in the group.  I found a lady I wanted to C.A.S.E. one of her cards and then decided to see what I could do.  The card I chose uses the Spotlighting technique.  This is a fun technique and easy to do.  I used the same colors and stamps as the lady used on her card.  I did change the border at the bottom of the image panel as I did not have the die she used.  I began by stamping the poppies across a Whisper White panel.  Then using my 1 1/2″ circle punch I punched out a section of the stamped image.  Using my Highland Heather marker I colored in the poppies on the punched out piece.  The panel of stamped poppies was added to a panel of Highland Heather.  I created a dye spray using alcohol and Highland Heather reinker.  I used this spray to color the White crinkled seam binding and set it aside to dry.  A strip of Highland Heather was used with the Flourish dies to create the punched border.  I added Tear & Tape to the bottom of the image panel and attached the border.  The ribbon was also added to the bottom of the stamped image panel with Tear& Tape.  A panel of Whisper White was added to a Highland Heather card base then the image panel was attached.  The Layering Circles dies and Highland Heather card stock was used to create the layer for the stamped and colored image.  This element was attached to the card base over top the punched area using dimensionals.  Here is the pretty Painted Poppies Spotlighting creation.

This is such a pretty card and the technique is really easy to do. See how I created the border and colored the ribbon for the Painted Poppies Spotlighting card.

These poppies are fun to color. They are also a great image to use for an easy technique. Check out the technique used for the Painted Poppies Spotlighting creation.

Want some other easy techniques you can do?  Here is the Ink, Spray, Smash technique.  If you have a lot of stencils here is an idea to use them to color a background for your card.  The Partial die cutting looks great on the edge of a card like this one.
