Happy Christmas Eve! Hello Everyone ~ I played with the new Peaceful Poppies designer series paper and created this Peaceful Poppies Meets Floral Essence idea.
Well you only have 1 more day before the big day! I hope you have all your shopping done and your presents wrapped. I spent yesterday making a list of all the cards and videos I have to make when I get home on Thursday and before I leave on January 1. I have a huge list and I will be very busy since I have several appointments over the few days I am home. The key will be the videos and getting them done. I will be working on them first as the cards are easy to do. Yesterday we went to King’s Dominion for a night of lights and rides. Thank heavens yesterday was a fairly warm day as it helped warm up the pavement some so it was not as cold as it could have been. We had a great time and herding 5 kids took all 3 adults to make sure we didn’t loose anyone.
In my preorder I was able to order the new mini trimmer you can get when you sign up to be a demonstrator. With the trimmer they gave you a 6″ x 6″ designer series paper sampler. I have played with some of the paper and will be playing with more of it over the next month. One of the things I like to do is to see what sets I already own that I can use with the new paper as I don’t often care for the stamp set they created to go with the paper. I did that with the Peaceful Poppies designer series paper and found several sets I can use with it until I get my stamp set and dies. I thought that one of the flowers in the Floral Essence stamp set looked like the poppies on one of the patterns of the paper. I took the stamp and stamped it twice using Poppy Parade ink then fussy cut them out. The leaves from the set were stamped with Mossy Meadow ink and then the Leaf punch was used to punch them out. I attached the leaves to the back of the flowers using glue dots. I cut the piece of designer series paper to the size I wanted and then cut a piece of Basic Black a little larger and mounted the 2 together. To add some interest and tie in the Poppy Parade color I used the Tufted embossing folder and embossed a piece of card stock. It was then trimmed to two 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strips. Using Tear & Tape I added them to the lower portion of the landscape card base. The designer series paper element was added on the left hand side of the card front. A scrap of Basic Black was used to punch out the Starburst punch and it was mounted onto the card base using dimensionals. To finish the card the flower elements were attached to the Starburst punch element using dimensionals. Here is the Peaceful Poppies Meets Floral Essence creation.

I use the Floral Essence stamp set a lot. Check out this card where I paired the Floral Essence stamp set with the Feels Like Frost dsp. Here is a card where I paired the stamp set with the See a Silhouette dsp. For this card I did some embossing and added the image from the set in the center.
