Playing with some new toys

Hi Ladies!

Well we got some more snow last night.  It was supposed to be between 2 and 4 inches before it ends today.  After spending a week and a half in California with beautiful warm weather I was not looking forward to this.  At least we will be up to about 70 by Wednesday.  I am so ready for some warm weather so I can wear flip flops.

When I was in California I took a few stamped images and some new coloring ideas and tools I ran across.  I had been watching a lot of You Tube videos for different coloring techniques.  I found some fun ones that I tried out.  I will be sharing some of my efforts throughout the next few weeks.

For today’s card I recently purchased some Inktense pencils.  I have the prismacolor ones but the Inktense are watercolor while the prismacolor uses mineral spirits to blend the color.  I saw several different ways to blend the the Inktense pencils.  One of the ways was to use the Wink of Stella pen to blend the colors.  I colored my image with the pencils then went over it with the Wink of Stella pen.  when it was all finished I had a glittery image.

To create my card, I cut out my image.  I took the Softly Falling embossing folder and embossed a white piece that was my layer.  I mounted the layer onto Melon Mambo card base.  I added my image with dimensionals.  I then cut out my greeting and mounted it onto the card base with dimensionals.
As it turns out the colors I went with actually fit the color challenge at Color Throwdown

Here is my final creation.

Thanks for visiting me today!  I am supposed to have a couple of workshops today.  We will see if the snow cancels them or not.  If it does, I will be playing in my craft room.  Have a Fabulous Friday!
