Playing with a winter scene

Well one more work day and then the weekend.  Do you have plans?  I am going to the cross stitch show in Pennsylvania with my sister.  Not sure if I will get anything or not but you never know.

My card today uses a sketch from a blog that is just starting to have challenges.  I visit her blog every day and I thought it would be fun to play along with her.  Donna at Butternut Sage Designs had a design that had the stipulation of no embellishments.  I thought about this and how I could do make a card without embellishments and decided that a scene would work.

I thought it would be fun to use the Lovely as a Tree group of trees and make it look like they are in the background of a snowy scene.  I used a third generation stamping of the trees in Always Artichoke.  I then sponged the edges with Bashful Blue and added some Marina Mist in each of the corners.  I took a post-it note and ripped the sticky edge and used it to sponge Bashful Blue on the bottom to represent mounds of snow.  Using the stamp with 3 snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes I used second generation stamping to add snowflakes.  I then went back and added a few snowflakes without off stamping.

I determined my layers and cut my cardstock.  I layered all my pieces and then added some Dazzling Diamonds with the glue pen.  I also highlighted some of the snowflakes using my gel pen.  It is really sparkly.  Here is my finished creation.

So, what do you think of my card?  I really like how it turned out don’t you.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!
