A Pretty Color Combination

Second post, scroll down for the first!

I ran across a pretty color combination on the Colour Q blog. You were to use Apricot Appeal, Green Galore, Melon Mambo, and Regal Rose. I thought they were great colors so I decided to use them.

I was checking out some new blogs and ran across 2 blogs with some fabulous flower ideas. While looking at some gorgeous flower ideas I ran across Valita’s Make Your Own Designer Background video. I loved this idea and thought it would be fun to give it a try. I did not have the scoring tool she had so decided to modify it and just use my Scor-Pal and scoring lines. Once I had the background scored, I had a hard time with sponging the right diamonds (3 tries and still did not have it right). I decided to modify the idea and stamp in the diamonds to create my version. After I had the flowers stamped in Regal Rose and Melon Mambo it needed something so I decided to use the leaf on the vine in Vintage Vogue to add some green. This was a fun technique and I will be working on the sponging as well as getting one of those scoring tools from my local fabric store so I can create one similar to Valita’s. I did not use a sketch to do this one so this is my own layout. Here is my creation.
