Red Birthday

Hello Ladies ~ I have a Red Birthday card for you today that was the result of my planning my Learn Something New class.

I was busy yesterday.  I had 2 classes, made half of my scrapbook class pages, made a card and packed up Michaela’s Christmas things to mail to her.  We have Remi’s birthday party today and then I will be back in my craft room to work on my projects for the upcoming week.  Another busy day!

Today I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches blog.

While I was planning for my Learn Something New class I had a lot of trial and error pieces.  One of those pieces was sitting on my craft table and I decided to use it to make my card for this sketch.

I had cut the candles out using the die from Window Box Thinlits dies.  I wasn’t certain what to do with it but then it hit me to use paper behind it.  Since the die is fairly small I wanted something that would show up well.  I decided to use glimmer paper.  I chose to use red and gold so those were the colors I used for the card base and horizontal elements.  I added the glimmer paper to my cut outs and then stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink.  A Read Red card base was embossed with the Sparkle embossing folder.  A piece of gold glimmer paper and Brights paper stack were cut and added to the front of the card.  The sentiment piece was then added using dimensionals.  My card is complete!  Here is my creation.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.   I love it when I can take a piece that should be trashed and make a great card out of it.  Have a Super Saturday and take a few minutes to make a Red Birthday card!
