Retiring

Hello Everyone ~ Are you ready for some inspiration using Retiring items?

Yesterday was a productive day but it was also very relaxing.  I had a need for some Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards.  So I looked on Pinterest for some inspiration and made 7 cards.  It was relaxing in that I took my time and enjoyed the process.  It was nice to be able to do that.

Today for our Coloring Down the Lines blog hop we are saying good-bye to an embossing folder.

There are several embossing folders that I will miss so this was a hard one for me.  I do a monthly collage class and this month I went with flowers.  I used some of the Floral Boutique dsp along with glimmer paper.  I needed 9 squares which I actually designed when I was in North Carolina.  When I got home I was going to put the collage together and panicked because I thought I needed 12 squares.  I quickly made 3 more and went to put the collage together.  I then realized I had 3 extra squares.  I figured I would use them to make a card.  My share today is one of those squares.  I used the Falling Flowers stamp set to stamp my green sprigs.  Using the Flower Fair framelits I cut out the flower and the spikey layer.  The blue layer is a 1/2″ circle.  The pieces were layered together to make my flower then added to my sprig base.  A rhinestone was added to the center of the flower.  The flower layer was added to a Dazzling Diamond layer which was added to the Floral Boutique dsp layer.  My background layer was white that was embossed with the large polka dot embossing folder.  I also added a strip of the Floral Boutique washi tape.  This layer was added to a Night of Navy card base.  The flower panel was added with dimensionals.  Here is my completed creation.

Now it is time to head on over the Helen’s blog – Blue Dahlia Designs to see her wonderful project.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  Collages are always a fun project to work on and as you can see if you see a square you like on a Collage you can easily turn it into a card.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday and make sure you get all the items you want from the current catalog as things are Retiring fast!

  1. Very pretty, Robbie. Love what you did with the square. I, too, love that embossing folder and almost used it for my card today. I'm glad you had extra squares so that we could have the advantage of seeing it today. Nice layers to it. I may have to try something like that.
    Thanks for your inspiration.
