Ringing in the New Year!

Well I am busy working on Valentine cards for Operation Write Home. They have to receive them by January 5th and since I am leaving on the 17th to go to my daughter’s for Christmas, I have to mail them before I leave. I made 10 cards last night and I mass produce them so I figure if I can make a set each night and mail them out before I leave.

Today’s card is another one the ladies will be making tonight. Amy and Pat requested a New Year’s card and since they both just got A Brand New Year in the Holiday Mini they wanted me to use that stamp. I decided to use the sketch on the Card Patterns blog and just made a few changes. I stamped the image in black and then used So Saffron to color in the glass to show it had champagne in it. I then used a clear stardust gelly roll pen to add some glitter to the champagne and the bubbles. I then added some Crystal Effects over the champagne to make the glass look like it was wet. I chose to use black and white with some red to give the feeling of formality. I finished the sketch off with a brushed gold star. Here is the sketch and my creation.

Stamps: A Brand New Year, Baroque Motifs Paper: Basic Black, Day & Night Specialty DS Accessories: So Saffron marker, Crystal Effects, small star punch
I am so glad you stopped by to day to check out my latest creation. Take some time today to create something, it is a great stress reliever. Thanks for looking and have Wonderful Wednesday!

  1. Glad you could play along over at Card Patterns. Your focal image is terrific and I love all the details on there!

It's such fun to be the sponsor this week and see all the great submissions. I hope you can visit my blog too where I have a second chance for a prize plus my take on the sketch. 🙂
