Shaker Birthday!

Good Morning Stampers ~ do you like shaker cards like I do?  Today I am sharing a shaker birthday card I created for our Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.

Well I did not Say Yes to the Dress!  I could not find one that Michaela approved of so I will continue the search.  I was disappointed but I am sure I will be able to find something in the next 4 months!  I plan on going shopping with Jess and see what we can find locally.

Today is the challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  This time we have a sketch challenge.

When I saw the sketch I immediately thought of a shaker card.  I also have some of the It’s My Party ds paper stack and knew it would be perfect.  I began by creating my shaker frame.  I cut my rectangle out of the paper and also out of thin foam.  I also cut a piece of window sheet a little smaller than the rectangle.  I attached the window sheet using Multipurpose Liquid glue.  When it was dry, I attached the foam using the liquid glue and allowed it to dry.   Now that the frame is dry I can add my enamel dots and sequins.  I chose to use the white and gold sequins in the star and sequin shape.  I tried the shape several times to make sure I had enough sequin mix in it.  After I was happy with the amount of sequins, I added some multipurpose liquid glue to the back of the frame and glued it to the card base.  I then used the Balloon Bouquet punch and punched out one of the smaller balloons.  I wrapped the shape with some Basic Black baker’s twine and used a dimensional to add it to the frame.  I cut 2 strips – one out of the It’s My Party paper stack and one out of Crushed Curry card stock.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment on the Crushed Curry strip and flagged the end of each piece using the banner and triple banner punches.  These were then added to my card base.  I punched a balloon from the Party Punch pack and added it to the banners.  My card was complete.  Here is what my finished card looks like.

We would love to have you play along with us.  Check out what the other design team members created using this sketch at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  What would you do with this sketch?

Thanks for visiting me today.  I did a lot of video taping yesterday and will be sharing them later this week!  Have a Terrific Tuesday and make sure you give a Shaker Birthday card a try!
