Sharing Some Cases

I love creating cards from sketches or using specified colors. Sometimes I want to use a specific set and I get a mental block. When that happens I go to Splitcoast Stampers and visit their gallery for ideas. They have the pictures categorized by companies and in Stampin’ Up’s case they have it broken down by stamp set (warning some sets can have quite a few pages – Lovely As A Tree had 67 pages). I had 2 sets I wanted to use and decided to check out the gallery to see what examples they had that I could case (copy and share everything). Here are the 2 cards I created from the cards in the samples. The first card uses Lovely As A Tree. I cased ttburton’s card which you can see by clicking on her name. I changed it some as I wanted a more elegant Christmas card. I created a template of the oval using my oval cutter. I made the template the same size as the card so I would not have to worry about getting ink anywhere else on the card. Here is my creation from hers.

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, All Year Cheer III Paper: Mellow Moss, white Ink: Handsome Hunter, Mellow Moss, Encore Gold Accessories: ribbon (Pink Hedgehog), sticky tape
My second card began with the set Merry and Bright. I found coriefoster’s card that I liked and used it to make my version. I have to admit that there were several pieces that ended up in the trash as I messed them up. I do like how this one turned out. Here is my version of her card.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Merry and Bright, Priceless, The Snowflake Spot Paper: Handsome Hunter, Mellow Moss, Rose Red, white Ink: Basic Black, Handsome Hunter, Mellow Moss, Encore Gold Accessories: ribbon (JoAnn’s), Basic Black – Close to Cocoa – Handsome Hunter – Rose Red markers, gold pen, ticket corner punch, scallop punch, 1 1/4″ & 1 3/8″ circle punch, sticky tape, dimensionals
So if you ever get a mental block, don’t forget to check out the galleries on Splitcoast Stampers. There are lots of great cards to help jump start you ideas. Thanks for looking and have a great evening!
