Sketch Frenzy Friday – filter flower

Happy Friday Everyone!

Yesterday was a strenuous day for me.  My driveway near my house does not get sun so I have to shovel it.  We had about 5 inches of snow so I spent an hour shoveling.  I have made the mistake of not shoveling and it turns to ice.  Then I have a mess until it finally melts.  I got it shoveled only to hear we are supposed to get some more snow today.  It is not supposed to amount to much but we were only supposed to get 1 to 2 inches with the one we just had.

Ok on to the card.  Today is Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Our sketch today was created by Kim Innis.

When I saw this I immediately saw the graduating colors and decided to run with it.  I chose shades of brown for the card.  I also have seen lots of the creped filter flowers lately and since I didn’t have any decided to use some of my filters to see if they would work.  They did but I thought they were too white so I sponged them and then used the spritzer to add some splatters.  Here is my creation.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Head on over to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to check out what the other design team members created.  Then grab your supplies and join us.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!

  1. Very pretty! Love how the flower really stands out against the various shades of brown! Great job creating your own flower!

  2. Robbie, I just love that blossom! It is just so dainty and soft looking. Great idea to use filters. I have made coffee filter blossoms for years. And I love your take on the graduated color scheme. What a clever girl!
I hope your weekend is good, and the weather man is wrong and you don't get any snow. Hugs, Sharon w.

  4. You totally rocked this design…I forget to use color families…thank you for the inspiration…these would be fabulous for our guys…minus the flower, of course!!!

  5. Very awesome card. Simple but very elegant. I like your flower, which I have never tried to make. I always like how you decorate the inside of the card and the envelope as well. Thanks for sharing.
