Sketch Saturday

Wow what crazy weather we have had this week. Close to 80 degrees, then sleet, heavy rain, and who knows what the weekend will be like. But that is Maryland weather for you. They say if you don’t like it wait a minute and it will change. I hope everyone was able to enjoy the 80 degree day!

Earlier this week I told you about the search for a guest designer at VerveVisual. I talked about how the sketch was a great one and that I would definitely want to use it. Well I took advantage of the fact it was my week for the sketch challenge and used it to create my card. I am submitting it but there are so many other talented stampers out there I don’t think I will get chosen. But that is okay as it is fun to try. As part of the challenge you had to use at least one of their stamps sets and it had to be a long card so you could not change the shape. I have 3 of their sets and chose the Seeing Stars one. I had wanted to use the stars to make flowers so I stamped them on the designer paper and cut them out. I then played with them by layering one on top of the other to get my flower but I did not like how the flower looked. Then I had to change my idea and head in a different direction. It is hard to see in the picture but the pink paper on top has the swirls from the star swirl stamped around the edges. Here is the sketch and my card. I think it is soooooo cute! What do you think?

Stamps: Seeing Stars (Verve Visual) Paper: Green Galore, Pretty in Pink, White, DCWV Spring stack (last year) Ink: Basic Black, Green Galore, Pretty in Pink Accessories: Star brads, dimensionals, sticky tape.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
