I had so much fun doing this last week that I decided to do it again this week.
In checking out the blogs this week I noticed that the Flourishes Blog’s Timeless Tuesday challenge was to use your favorite stamp set. I would have to say my all time favorite set is Stampin’ Up’s Perfect Plaids. I love the backgrounds you can make using this set. I do have to say you need to practice but with a little you can get your lines fairly straight. I knew I had to use this set for my set.
SplitcoastStampers had a color challenge each Tuesday. The color combination this week was Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, and So Saffron. I thought it might be fun to use those colors for my cards this week. From there I created the set of cards pictured below.
For my first card I went blurfing to find some sketches to use. I found
Card Positioning Systems and they had an interesting sketch so I decided to use it for one of my cards. I stamped my background then began putting the images together. Once the images were completed and mounted I need to add some embellishments. I had some of this Chocolate Chip dotted ribbon that I felt looked good with it. The card didn’t seem to be suited for a bow so I wasn’t sure what to do next. I decided to try some butterflies which looked nice so I attached some seed beads for the body and finished mounting everything. Here is the sketch and my first creation.
