Soft Pastels by Stampin’ Up

Soft Pastels by Stampin’ Up

Hello Everyone – lets see a way to use the Soft Pastels by Stampin’ Up in your card making.

Years ago I had the chalks Stampin’ Up sold in squares. Several years ago they brought them back in an updated form. The new sticks can be used like the squares were and the techniques you can do with them are the same. Sadly I lost mine in the move but if you have yours pull them out and let’s play with them this week!

My friend Lela Meinke shared how she used them to color up this cute bird.

Isn't this bird a cute guy? Check out how he was colored using the Stampin' Up Soft Pastels.

She began by stamping the image in Stazon black ink on watercolor paper. Then using a Blender Pen she colored the bird and books. When finished she fussy cut the image and added it to her card.

Isn’t this a great layout. I love how she cut the corners off the dsp. Did you see she used the Scallop contour dies for the background of the bird? She had so much fun with this technique and layout she made several other cards in various colors. Which is your favorite?

While I do not have this stamp set I have used the dsp Lela used for these cards. For this card I used the Coastal Cabana heart pattern. This card uses the same polka dot pattern used on these cards.

Here are the supplies she used to create her cards. Click on the link to order and you can add the supplies you don’t have to your cart.
