Second Post, scroll down for the first!
The manager at New Towne village asked if I had any ideas that the ladies could make for inexpensive Christmas gifts. I told her I would see what I could come up with. Over the last few weeks I have been keeping my eye open for some ideas. Today I am going to share 2 of the projects I will be making with them.
The first is one that I have seen on several blogs lately. It is a candle that has a stamped image embedded in it. You begin by stamping your image on tissue paper and when finished you use your heat tool to melt the wax and seal the tissue paper to the candle. I have searched everywhere for inexpensive white candles (the ladies are all on a fixed income so I really tried to keep the cost at a minimum. I found a tall candle but it was not white. Since I needed to at least make a sample to show the ladies, I decided to give it a try. When you see my picture you will see that you really need a white candle, so I am on the hunt for some white candles. If anybody out there knows where I can get them, please let me know. Here is my sample.
The next project they will be making is a decorated notebook. These are simple and easy and I am sure the ladies will be making these for gifts for all their grandkids. Here is an example for them.
Both of these were created for my daughter so I used yellow and blue her current favorite colors. The ladies will have the option of using different colors and images so they are able to personalize them.
So what do you think of these projects? I think the ladies will be excited. I just hope I have enough supplies for the number they want to make. If not I will be doing some last minute shopping.
I am working on the last two projects that I will post tomorrow. Thanks for looking today and enjoy your afternoon!
Robbie
