Stampin’ Up Daffodil Afternoon Dragonfly
Hello Everyone – I had not played with the Dragonflies punch and knew it would be perfect for my Stampin’ Up Daffodil Afternoon Dragonfly.
When you look at pattern paper and need to make a masculine card, you want to choose patterns that are geometric. There were 2 in this flowery pattern paper that I knew I could be used for my masculine card.
The Dragonfly Garden bundle is a great one to choose for masculine cards. It can also be used for feminine cards as it has a flower bunch also. The coordinating punch makes it easy to cut out that dragonfly.
I knew I could stamp the dragonfly in black and use one of my glitter pens to add some sparkle to the wings (photographing sparkle on your cards is hard but the wings are sparkly). The open design of the dragonfly is perfect for the black plus pattern paper.
That image is perfect for decorating the inside of your card and your envelope. As an added bonus, I had an ink smudge on the inside of the card so I punched out a small back dragonfly and added it over the top. Now no one knows but you and I!
I love using black and white for my dragonflies. This idea uses those colors with the flower bunch and some sparkly ribbon for a pretty card. I love using sparkle with my dragonflies and the ribbon on this card uses another color with the black and white for an easy card.

Ready to make the Stampin’ Up Daffodil Afternoon Dragonfly card?
- fold and burnish your card base
- attach the Crushed Curry pattern paper to the Crushed Curry card stock
- glue the Crushed Curry panel to the left hand side of the card base leaving about 1/4″ from the left hand side
- use your trimmer and add score lines around the Crushed Curry piece about 1/8″ from the edge of the Crushed Curry panel Note: to make it easy to score, I went from top to bottom and edge to about 1/8″ past the Crushed Curry panel. This adds a decorative edge to the frame.
- add the Black plus pattern paper to the Black card stock
- use dimensionals to attach the Black panel to the card front centered top to bottom and about 1/2″ from the right hand side
- stamp the dragonfly onto White using Tuxedo Black ink
- punch out the dragonfly with the coordinating punch
- add sparkle to the wings using Wink of Stella or glitter pen
- attach the dragonfly to the center of the Black panel using dimensionals
- punch 3 small dragonflies from Black and add sparkle to them
- glue the small dragonflies to the card front using glue dots
- sprinkle on Black matte dots on the card
