Stampin’ Up Perfectly Penciled Spotlighting
Hello Everyone – are you ready for a fun technique with this Stampin’ Up Perfectly Penciled Spotlighting idea?
Well I am headed home today. I have 6 1/2 – 7 hours of driving ahead of me so I want to get out as early as possible. With the time change it gets dark earlier and I like to be home before it gets dark.
I am playing with another one of Kendra’s card challenge sketches for todays idea. I used her Challenge 4 Sketch #7 for this idea. I love the Perfectly Penciled pattern paper and knew it would be perfect for the spotlighting technique. I chose an image on the paper and colored it with alcohol markers. This is a modified version of spotlighting as I did not cut the image out but left it as part of the pattern paper.
The black and white patterns in this paper are a mixture of floral and geometric designs. Perfect for mixing and matching to make great cards.
I had to choose a color to use for my spotlighting so I decided on Melon Mambo. I thought it would be great for the flower. That meant the card base would be the same color which was perfect to make the colored image pop.
I also played with an idea for my ribbon embellishment that I saw in a mini album you tube video. I loved the look and have been using different variations on my cards.
Since I always decorate the inside of my card and envelope I had to find a stamp set that I could use. I felt the new Framed Florets had a great flower and leaf that was very close to the flower image on the pattern paper.
Are you looking for other ways to use this pattern paper? Look at this card where I used the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set with the same paper as today’s card. This card uses just the black and white of the pattern paper for a pretty elegant card.
