Hello Everyone ~ I used our sketch challenge to create my Stampin’ Up Tea Together Friend card today.
Well I managed to get a few errands run yesterday. I have a hair appointment today and I want to pick up a new furnace filter after that. I will then come home and wait for the granite people to come and do my cleaning. I have been working on washing clothes and bed linens. I hope to finish up today. I may clean the bathrooms today and do the floors tomorrow. Just depends on what time it is when I get the bathrooms finished. I also have some cards to make so I may do that after I finish the bathrooms so I can get them made and sent out.
Today I am finally getting back to play with the Hand Stamped Sentiments Paper Crafting Challenges. I have not had my craft room in any shape to be able to find things since I tore it up to get the girls scrapbooks finished before we left. I saw the sketch and knew what I wanted to do so I had to go find all the supplies.
I had some trouble finding my dies and embossing folders but I had one box I had not checked the bottom of and so when I looked in the bottom I found both of my containers. I wanted to use a strip of designer series paper for the strip down the side and when I looked at it I thought that I could stamp the sentiment on it. I also wanted to die cut the top and I remembered the Botanical Tags thinlits had a rose for one of them so I decided to pair it with the flowers in the Tea Together stamp set. I die cut the top of the designer series paper and then stamped the sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet stamp set. I then added this panel to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White card stock on the right hand side. This panel was then added to a Lemon Lime Twist card base. The 2 flowers from the Tea Together stamp set were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock. The leaves were colored using the Lemon Lime Twist marker. I then used the Flirty Flamingo and Mango Medley markers to color the large rose. I colored the inside of the flower using Flirty Flamingo. I then colored the outside petals using the Mango Medley marker. I then colored over the Mango petals with the Flirty Flamingo marker leave the outer tip the Mango color. The small flower was colored using Daffodil Delight marker for the center and Pool Party for the petals. I purposely left the tips uncolored for some interest. These flowers were cut with the matching framelits that will be in the new annual catalog and then added to the card base using dimensionals. Here is the completed Stampin’ Up Tea Together Friend creation.
