Happy Weekend Everyone ~ how about some sponged Stampin’ Up’s Eclectic Layers for my creation today?
Well today we are headed to a ladies luncheon. I am hoping to meet some new ladies from the development. I know quite a few but I am hoping to meet some new ones. After that we are going to do the Parade of Homes. I am anxious to see what new gadgets they have come out with since last year. This is the perfect way to check out the houses and to be able to include some of these ideas in a new home. Last year I saw a home by one of the builders I am thinking about. It was gorgeous but way to fancy for me. It was also a lot bigger than I need. I am planning on downsizing as it is just me and I don’t need all that space to clean! I know some things about my house so I will share them with you over the next few month.
I played with another idea that I saw from one of my favorite card artists Birgit Edblom. I loved her card so I decided to see if I could do it with Stampin’ Up supplies. She took a die cut of tulips and cut them out. She then watercolored them. I used the Eclectic Layers thinlits and cut out 2 of the flowers from the Shimmery White card stock. I did extend the stems as I wanted the flowers taller. I used the ink in the lid to watercolor my flowers using Perfect Plum ink. These were set aside to dry. I used the stencil created when the 2 flowers were cut out to sponge on some Pool Party ink. Using the largest and the second largest Stitched Shape die, I cut out a circle. I cut part of this circle away to form an opening for the stems. This circle was glued down with the opening where the stems were. The purple flowers were added offset from the Pool Party ones to make it look like shadows. I pulled my sentiment form the Eastern Beauty set as it has 2 curved sentiments in the set. This was stamped using Pool Party ink. To finish off my card, I added some rhinestones. Here is my Stampin’ Up’s Eclectic Layers thinlits creation.
