Tag Challenge

Yesterday was crazy busy. I had to take the puppy to get her stitches out. That went well the vet did tell me to make sure she is contained and does no running. That is like telling the sun it can’t shine for 4 – 6 weeks. She just loves to run and play chase. I am keeping her on a short leash so at least if she starts I can reign her in quickly. Then I had an observation to do. By the time I got some free time it was late afternoon so when I finally finished my project the day was finished. So I decided to work on another card to post also. I ran out of light so I will take the picture of that one and post it later today.

I wanted to do something other than a card and I ran across a tag challenge at Just Scraps. I thought this would be a fun different challenge. I also saw a “dust off that set” challenge at I Dream of Stamping . In this challenge you were to find a set you had to have when it came out but you haven’t used yet. Well I had to go way back to 2005 to find a set I hadn’t used. I had the Painted Posies set and I had not used it. So now I have my project and my stamp set so it was time to create.

I began by stamping the lilacs and leaves (this is a 2 step stamp set so I used my stamp positioner to help with placement of outlines). Next I add the yellow posies. I stamped an extra one to cut out and put on dimensionals. I added a little blue butterfly in the upper corner (I have these pale blue butterflies all summer long and I love them so I used them for the inspiration.

Next I created my tag. I chose to use 2 retiring colors – Lovely Lilac and Summer Sun. I wanted to add some interest in the upper corners so I used the scallop trim corner punch. Then I just had to image layer. After I added the image layer it still needed something so I pulled out butterfly jewelry finding I have had for a while and added one of those with some sheer ribbon. It still needed something so I went looking and found the sentiment stamp in Vintage Labels. After I had stamped it I thought it would be cute to punch out the words with the Trio Flowers punch. I had to stamp the saying twice to get each word. I then sponged the edges and added to the tag with dimensionals. To add a little more bling, I added tiny rhinestones in coordinating colors to the lilacs, posies, and butterfly. Here is my tag creation. Let me know what you think.
