The Bees from Dragonfly Dreams

Hello Stampers ~ I played with The Bees from Dragonfly Dreams for my creation today.

I have the whole day today to play.  I will be cleaning my bathrooms but then I can play.  I need make some videos for this week as well as next week.  Hopefully I will get quite a few videos recorded so I am prepared for the next few weeks.  I am planning on highlighting retiring products over the next 2 weeks and then I will share some new products with you.  Are you curious about the new products?  Let me know what you want to see and if I have it I will make sure to include it so you can see it.

We have our Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge today.  This week we have a great sketch.

When I saw this I thought of flowers for the sweep of dots with some designer series paper for the flag element.  I began by cutting my piece of Whisper White for the panel.  Once I got it cut I realized it was way to small to work.  Then I thought of bees.  I knew there were bees in the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.  I pulled out the set and put the bees onto blocks.  I began by stamping the back panel with the bees all over in different directions using Crushed Curry.  I then stamped the top of the bees using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I pulled out my clear Wink of Stella and colored the wings of the bees.  This panel was added to a Crushed Curry card base.  I decided to use the Hexagons embossing folder and Crushed Curry card stock for the flag element.  After I embossed it, I attached it to the card base using Tear & Tape.  Now to address the top panel.  I was going to use the bees from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set but they were too big for the look I was attempting achieve.  I went looking and found a smaller bee in the Touches of Texture stamp set.  I stamped it using Memento Tuxedo Black ink in a pattern mimicking the pattern on the sketch.  I used a Crushed Curry marker to color in the bees.  This panel was mounted onto a piece of Basic Black panel.  This panel was added to the card base using dimensionals.  There was a horizontal strip I need to add so I took a piece of Crushed Curry and embossed it with the Hexagons embossing folder.  I flagged the end of the strip using the Banner Triple punch.  This was added to the right hand side of the card using Tear & Tape and dimensionals.  To finish off the card some Gold Metallic Shapes.  Here is my Hand Stamped Sentiments The Bees from Dragonfly Dreams creation.
