A tribute to Summer

Another late post due to my class. I have a ton of papers to grade plus I have to prepare for class. Worked on it most of the day but needed to take a break to play.

I wanted to finish up the last of the cards for my workshop on Tuesday. I had to let my glue dry before I could take a picture. This card was one I ran across during my many blurfing sessions. I loved it and Marisol Gutierrez sent me the pattern she used. I enlarged her pattern to fit a legal size envelope (to use an invitation size the width was just too narrow). After I got the size of my pattern, I cut my cardstock, scored it, folded it in half, and then put the pattern on the paper so it was just over the folded edge a little. Trace and then cut out This allows the card to open up for your sentiment inside. To cut the patterned paper, trace your pattern on the designer series paper and cut it out inside your traced line (just make sure the pattern is laid on your ds paper the same way your card opens or your will have a weird shaped flip flop as there is a right and left shoe pattern. Lay your cut out paper on your flip flop and cut more as needed to have some of the cardstock showing. Then all you have to do is cut out your strap and decorate. Anyone who comes to the workshop will get to choose whether they want a flower or beads on their strap. Here are my 2 versions.

So what do you think of these? Aren’t they too cute! I am going to playing with a faux sea glass idea for a challenge. I hope to have it posted tomorrow so check back to see what I came up with. Oh I remembered I have to have some blog candy. I will have to pull some things and get it posted also.

Thanks for looking and have a Sensational 4th of July tomorrow!

  1. I just love them Robbie. They are way too cute and so colorful. I wouldn't know which one to choose to make because they are both so neat looking. Sandy
