Twice the inspiration today!

Good Morning Stampers!

Well because I cannot read you get 2 cards today.  I thought the challenge at Late Night Stampers  this week was all about Parties.  I was wrong – and I did not discover it until after my card was completed.  That meant I would need a new card for this challenge.  

This week the challenge for Late Night Stampers Challenge blog is    

Father’s Day – make a masculine card.

Since I had to remake my card I decided to use the sketch challenge at Clean and Simple    

I knew I wanted to use the By the Tide set.  When I saw this sketch I thought the strip across the top would be water and the flower element would be a fish.  Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

Do you see that envelope?  I watched a video by Jackie Topa where she shows you how to make an open ended envelope using designer series paper.  Her size is for a gift card so it was smaller.  I modified it so it would fit a regular size card – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.  This is a great way to use up some of your retired paper.  I will be making quite a few of them so be looking for them.

Since I am also on Mary Jo’s Monday Sketch Challenge design team, I also had to have a card to post today for her challenge. 

I had originally made my card to fit the party theme that was not this week but I think it makes a great birthday card.  Here is my interpretation of her sketch.
