A twist on the Versamark Resist background

Well the week is almost over.  Is it me or does time seem to fly by the older you get?  It just seems like it was Monday.

My card today was for the sketch challenge at Stamping 411.

I also combined it with the inspiration challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

When I looked at this picture I saw the purple and thought of Perfect Plum.  I pulled out my handy Color Coach and it suggested More Mustard and Riding Hood Red.  I then saw those colors in the picture also so there were my colors.  I needed a few more Thanksgiving cards so I pulled out a stamp I have never used.  I have had this set for several years but I have never used the leaf in the set.  I inked the stamp with More Mustard and then used markers to added the other colors in random spots.

I used the Versamark Resist technique for the background.  I used glossy white cardstock and using sponges added the 3 colors.  When I was finished I didn’t like the way it looked so I decided to try something.  I spritzed the cardstock with water and then using a paper towel I spread the color around.  When I was finished I loved how it looked.  Here is my creation.

I think I am going to use the background idea with snowflakes in January.  Don’t you think it would be very pretty.  Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!
