Vintage Bells and Boughs

I love playing along with the Stamp-a-holics challenges each week.  My good friend Carole’Anne is on this team and I love seeing her creations.  This week they had a sketch challenge that I thought I would give a try.

The Paper Players is another challenge I try to participate in.  I met one of the design team members online and we have chatted back and forth a few times.  This week they had a color challenge.

So with my colors and the sketch I was ready to create.

I had not used my new set Bells & Boughs yet so I decided to give it a try.  I have seen some gorgeous cards using the bells and coloring with the blender pen and I wanted to give it a try.  I chose to use River Rock as my neutral.  I colored the bells with the River Rock and the rest was easy to decide.  I used the holly stamp in Artichoke and did a second generation stamping on the background to add some interest.  I also used my glitter pen to add some sparkle.  I realized after I had finished my card I was supposed to do it in 15 minutes.  I can tell you that it took a lot longer than 15 minutes just to do the water coloring so I failed miserably!  Here is my creation.

Hope you enjoyed my card today.  I really like how it turned out.  Thanks for looking and have a Terrific Tuesday!

  1. Love the ribbon treatment, Robbie! It really sets of the entire card. Love the layout, too! AND Lesley wanted me to tell you that she thinks your card looks fabulous. She can view the thumbnail, but was unable to open it. So..from Lesley and me, it's fabulous X 2!

  2. Robbie, I love this! First of all, you cut out that image perfectly. It looks beautiful matted on the Cherry Cobbler. Can you share some of your tips and patience with me? 🙂 Also, the ribbon is so vintage, it's beautiful. Thanks for joining again this week! 🙂

  3. This is so pretty! I especially love the double ribbon treatment–it's spectacular. And the inside is as pretty as the outside. So glad you could join the Paper Players again this week!

  4. Robbie, I know you missed your 15 minutes… but it was worth spending time coloring this image. I, too, love the ribbon treatment. Your sniping skills are amazing – that cut out is fabulous. All round, beautiful card.
Thanks for joining the Paper Players again this week.
