Watercolor Background Idea

Hello Everyone ~

Despite sleeping in, I was extremely successful yesterday.  It felt so good to be designing.  I managed to make my Facebook Live, design team card, and cards for my Christmas Card Series.  I was able to take my time and enjoy myself.  I like it when I can take my time and enjoy my designing.

Today I have water aerobics in the morning.  I also need to dust mop the house.  After that I will be working on finalizing my next Inspiration in the Mail.  I don’t think it will take long so I will be taking some time to read.

A few weeks ago I took some time and did some watercolor playing.  I love playing with ink and water to create great backgrounds.  One of the advantages of this play is the left over ink on the craft mat.  I use extra watercolor paper to soak up all the left over ink on the mat.  Today’s card uses one of those panels for my background.  I was playing with Gorgeous Grape, Pacific Point, and Bermuda Bay.  Here is how I used one of the panels created from soaking up the ink to create my Watercolor Background Idea.

Features of the Card

  • Floral Essence
  • Beautiful Friendship
  • card base ~ Gorgeous Grape – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • Basic Black ~ 1″ x 2″
  • Whisper White ~ 7/8″ x 1 7/8″    and   scrap
  • watercolor paper ~ 3 1/2″ x 5″
  • Whisper White crinkled seam binding
  • rhinestones

I love creating fun backgrounds. The Watercolor Background Idea was a result of left over ink on a craft mat. Don't miss the fun to play and use leftovers for your card making.

That strip of paper down the side is a left over from some watercolor playing. Check out the Watercolor Background Idea card to see what the panel on the card front looks like.
