Hello Everyone ~ are you ready to see my Watercolor Snow?
I did a lot of die cutting and fussy cutting for a project I am working on yesterday. I also finished one of my cards for a new class I am having next month. I need to do one more and that class is complete. The other 2 classes are half done. I will finish them up by this weekend and then all my classes for January are complete! Yah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is our last gold or silver challenge for this month.
I decided to use one of the backgrounds I created when I was playing with my watercoloring. I saw a good sketch at Freshly Made Sketches
I kept this one simple. I used the Softly Falling embossing folder for the card base front. I cut a strip of Silver glimmer paper. I then took the watercolor background I created and cut it in half for the card front. All I needed to do was add a snowflake I found from a while ago and cut the word “Snow” out. I attached both to the card front. My card was completed!
Now I know you are going to want to know how I did the background. I took a piece of watercolor paper and using my nonstick sheet I smooshed the Soft Sky ink pad onto the sheet. I spritzed it with water so it was pretty wet – the ink beaded up. I then took the watercolor paper and pushed it into the ink. I checked the paper and if there were some bare spots I pushed it into the ink again. Set this aside to dry and clean up your sheet. When it is dry, repeat the above procedure but use Marina Mist. When you add this second color you want to make sure some of the base color shows through. When this layer is dry, repeat with Dapper Denim. If you have done this correctly, you should have layers of different colors like on my card. Here is my completed card.
