Happy Friday Ladies!
Yesterday was a successful day for me knitting wise. I managed to get almost half of my clue finished. Since the next clue comes out today I am behind but I think I will be able to catch up by the middle of next week.
At Convention this year I took an extra class that was based on the Watercolor Winter card kit. At the workshop we were challenge to make a card that was different from the samples shown in the directions. I managed to make 2 that night. When I got home I made 1 sample of each of the other cards from the directions and then set the kit aside thinking I would make other cards to show the versatility of the kit. I pulled the kit out the other day and found some cards on Pinterest that I wanted to use the ideas to make with the supplies. Today I am sharing those cards.
The first card is one of the ones that they have in their directions.
This is a picture of the other cards I made that were not in the directions.
The first card I made was one I saw on Pinterest. I did change the color of the letters. The original had gradient red letters. I used Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay to color my letters. I also used 3 sequins in the center of my snowflake rather than 1 large one. Here is the first card.
My second card uses the Watercolor Winter Too stamp set. The set does not come in the kit but we got it in the workshop. I added the gold glimmer dots as I wanted a little bit of bling on my card.
My next card I had to do some modifying on. At Convention, I had watercolored my letters with Old Olive. I decided I wanted my letters to match my strip of Bermuda Bay on the card. I pulled out my marker and colored over the letters. It is hard to tell from the picture but the match is better than the picture. I also added a strip of Real Red behind my Christmas flag.
The last card I made (each kit comes with 5 card bases all alike – this one was Crumb Cake with white dots. This one is one of my favorites. When I saw it I knew I had to CASE. I used the extra gold glimmer paper that was around the items in the kit to make the star and the rays. I cut one of the woodgrain sheets up to make the fence. The banner punch was use to make the tops of the fence.
I still have 3 other card bases to use so I will be sharing some of those samples also.
Thanks for visiting me today. I have some errands to run and then I hope to play and I have a workshop tomorrow so I have to cut for it. Have a Fabulous Friday!
