A Watercolored Rose

I got one of the new Level 2 hostess sets. I love this set. It has some great images for watercoloring. I saw a watercoloring challenge on the Stampin B’s Design Team blog. So I chose the carnation looking flower image.

I decided to try using my watercolor crayons on the image. I colored the stamp leaves with Always Artichoke and the stamp petals on the flower were Rose Red on the outside petals and Regal Rose on the inside petals. I then spritzed it with water and stamped my image. I loved the look but since it was an outline image there was no color inside the lines. I decided to pull out my aqua painter and using ink in the lid painted the inside of the image. After I painted the flower you really couldn’t see the inside petal edges. I pulled out my Regal Rose marker and traced over the lines. Here is my creation.

inside of card
Stamps: Asian Artistry Paper: Always Artichoke, Regal Rose, Rose Red, white Ink: Mellow Moss, Pink Pirouette, Tempting Turquoise Accessories: Rich Regals Watercolor Crayons, Gable Green marker, photo corner punch, Floral Lace Edge border punch (Martha Stewart), ribbon, brads (both Pink Hedgehog), sticky tape, dimensionals
I will be using some more of the new In Colors for cards for the next few days so make sure you check back to see what I come up with. Thanks for looking and have great day!
