Nice Spring Card

Well how is everyone doing today? I hope you all had a great Memorial Day and had some fun over the weekend!

I have to admit that today’s card had a rocky start but I like how it turned out. Stampin B’s Design Team blog had a “Follow The List” challenge. This type of challenge lists certain items you need to use on your card. I had to include Border Punch, Circle, Leaf/leaves/branch, and 2 or more Brads. It has been a while since I did one of these challenges so I decided to give it a try. I used the colors from the Creative Belli Blog Challenge – Apricot Appeal, Cameo Coral – Certainly Celery.

As I was sitting at my table thinking about what to do, the Priceless set was sitting there and the flower just jumped out at me. I stamped the flower in the 3 colors from the challenge and began to cut them out. I had pulled out some Apricot Appeal and Certainly Celery to use on my card but a thought hit me. I wondered what the flower would look like with a circle of patterned paper behind it. I tried a circle larger than the flower but did not like the look so I went with a smaller one. After putting my flowers together with a brad in the middle, punched and attached the leaf to them. That left only one more requirement to incorporate – a border punch. I grabbed my eyelet border punch and using the 3 colors I punched a strip for the bottom. I then needed to put the card together. Here is my creation.

  1. Woohoo Rob from Florida. I just love this card. It was a very pretty design. Very summery and eye catching, with the scallop and flowers. Can’t wait to get back and start some of these challenges. Sandy
