You Float My Boat from My Favorite Things
Happy Friday stampers – I have a great guy idea with the You Float My Boat from My Favorite Things card.
I ran across a post on Facebook that said My Favorite Things is starting up their challenges again. I had 1 stamp set that I bought as I needed a boat in my stash. I decided to play along. The company went out of business so finding any of their stamps is very hard now.
Today’s Project
The first challenge was a sketch challenge and I love sketch challenges so I decided to play along.
I knew I was going to use the sailboat so I checked my stash and found a 49 & Market collection in my stash that would work. I chose 2 pattern papers and a couple of the chipboard pieces. Since this wasn’t a designated nautical set I looked for patterns that would be used with the sailboat. The sketch made it easy. Here is what I came up with.
The chipboard pieces had a couple of sentiments. Since my card had a lot of blue, I chose the navy one. The stamp set had 2 different sailboats. I liked the straight lined one so I stamped it in brown. The sailboat I have seen have bright colored sails so I chose 2 colors to add some brightness to the card.

I have made several sailboat cards in the past. Here is one idea that uses a sailboat punch. This idea was another stamped sailboat that I cut out.
About today’s creation
white cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for stamping and fussy cutting
navy cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
scrap for punching
pattern paper – blue watercolor – 2 1/2″ x 5 1/8″
striped – 1 1/4″ x 5 1/8″
