Penny Black ATC Challenge

I have been doing the Penny Black challenges for a few weeks and this week the challenge was to make an ATC. This is right up my alley as I have participated in a monthly ATC swap for over a year. I thought it would be fun to have the little hedgehog running in the leaves. Well when I looked at my sister’s stamps, she did not have one with leaves. She did however have this one.

Since he was running I decided to use this stamp. Now since this was a fall card I wanted to use leaves and not the hearts, so I took my Basic Black marker and inked up only the hedgie and the grass. It worked perfectly except now I couldn’t use watercoloring to add some color as the marker would bleed. So I pulled out my Prismacolor pencils and colored him in with those. I did not use the gamsol to blend as I was afraid the ink would bleed.

After all that I used my bath poof background technique to add some texture to the cardstock and punch out a bunch of leaves. Then it was just a matter of layering everything to get what I wanted. I had some patterned paper that looked kind of fallish (is that a word?) that I used as the background. So here is what I came up with. Do you think it looks like he is running through the leaves?

Stamps: Hearts Away (Penny Black) Paper: Creamy Caramel, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, Ruby Red, Summer Sun, Very Vanilla, DCWV patterned paper pack Ink: Chocolate Chip (for adding texture to leaves) Accessories: Basic Black marker, Prismacolor pencils, leaf punches (Creative Memories and Paper Shapers), bath poof, dimensionals
Well I am headed to the kitchen to make some stuffed peppers and chili, two of my favorite winter foods. I hope everyone has a relaxing evening. Thanks for looking!
