2 more challenge creations for you

I spent a little time on Monday in my craft room (still digging out in between also) and did 2 sketch challenges. I wanted to bring some sunshine and spring to everyone as we are in the middle of our 3rd major snow storm of the season. Those of you from up north may not think anything of this but here in my part of Maryland we rarely get over 5 inches all winter. We had around 12″ in December, last weekend we had around 2 feet, and now this storm and we are not sure what our totals will be. We had just had all the snow from the Christmas storm melt when the storm hit last weekend. There really wasn’t any melting to speak of from this storm before our storm today. We will have snow piled in our parking lots until April!

The first one uses the sketch from the Eat Sleep Stamp blog. This one ended up being only 2 colors – Bermuda Bay and white. I did something a little different on the circle element. Usually you have a plain circle mounted on a scalloped circle. I reversed it and mounted a scalloped circle on a plain circle. I think it added a little interest to the card when it was finished. Here is the sketch and my creation.

My second card was created for the sketch challenge at the Just Add Ink blog. This is a new challenge blog I ran across last week and was glad I was able to join in the challenge this week. I wanted to use my Daisies #2 die for the circle element as I had not used it yet. This die takes some practice as the paper kept slipping and would cut off part of the petal. Finally got 2 good ones I could use for layering. I also cut one of the middle size ones to layer on top of the 2 big ones. Here is the sketch and my creation.
