Humming Along and Buffalo Check

Hello Stampers ~ I have a great card with my Humming Along and Buffalo Check creation today.

Well yesterday was a long day.  Traffic on 95 was very heavy.  There were times we would be driving along at about 50 mph then it would slow down and stop.  I did not do 70 mph the speed limit on 95 until I got on 295.  Once I left the North Carolina visitor’s center it went back to slow stop and go.  I was tired when I got to the apartment but unloaded the car, unpacked and did a load of laundry.  Today I have a meeting at the house to make some decisions and to discuss a problem that needs to be fixed.  I am going to push for what I wanted so that I get the storage space in the attic I said I wanted.  Wish me luck!

Today I have a fun card.  I used a stamp from the Holiday catalog that is carrying over along with a new stamp set in the upcoming Occasions catalog.  I am so excited that the Buffalo Check stamp is carrying over.  I have used this stamp so much and I knew it would be perfect for the background for my card.  I used the Memento Tuxedo black ink pad and inked up the center of the stamp.  Then I used a sponge dauber to add some light color around the edges.  I did not want the complete stamp but rather a portion so that is why I used the sponge dauber.  I mounted this panel to a Melon Mambo card base.  I got the Humming Along stamp set at Convention.  I  used Versamark and the Memento Tuxedo Black ink along with clear embossing powder to emboss the Hummingbird.  Using the Watercolor Pencils I colored the hummingbird as close as I could to a picture I found online.  I then used the Blender pen to blend the pencils.  I did not get the framelits at Convention so I had to fussy cut the bird out.  I will be ordering them in January.  I used the Oh So Eclectic set and stamped the flowers using Melon Mambo and second generation stamping for some interest.  The leaves were stamped with Old Olive ink.  The coordinating framelits were used to cut the flowers and leaves out.  I added the leaves using glue dots and the flowers were added with dimensionals in the lower right hand corner.  The hummingbird was added using dimensionals.  Here is the completed Humming Along and Buffalo Check creation.
