#ShopYourCraftStash ~ Daisy

Hello Everyone ~ are you ready for #ShopYourCraftStash ~ Daisy today?

Our plans got changed yesterday.  My friend had a family problem to deal with so our lunch got canceled.  Zoie and I took off and did some shopping.  I need to replace 2 picture frames so we went to Michael’s to get those.  Then we went to the produce stand to pick up tomatoes, corn, plums, and a watermelon for her to take home.  I had a few things to get at Walmart so that was our next stop.  Our final stop was Harris Teeter’s to get pizza for lunch.  Since we did not go out I told her we would stop and get pizza.  She was happy with that.  Today we don’t have anything that we have to do so we will probably just hang around here unless you comes up with something to do.  We may go to the pool and play around a bit.  It will depend on the weather and if it is going to rain or not.  In the evening we have been invited to Barb and Doug’s for steak.  Doug was over helping with my bar stools the other night and he asked her if she liked steak.  Naturally she said yes so he said he would fix her steak on the grill.  She is really excited about that.  Another low key day after a full week.

Today is my #ShopYourStash idea day.  If you are like me you probably have a ton of retired product and feel you need to use it up.  But at the same time you want to have new items to play with.  Hence was born my #ShopYourCraftStash series.  I went shopping in my stash to see what I could find to play with.  I found a package of the Delightful Daisy designer series paper and knew it would be perfect to use with the Daisy Lane bundle and Daisy punch.  I found the perfect sketch to use the designer series paper with.  Freshly Made Sketches has a great sketch this week that I could use.

I began with a panel of Whisper White card stock that was the standard size I usually use of 4″ x 5 1/4″.  I chose 2 papers from the Delightful Daisy designer series paper that paired well with my stamp set.  I cut the Navy piece to 2 3/8″ x 2 7/8″.  I used a piece of Night of Navy card stock cut to 2 1/2″ x 3″ and mounted the designer series paper to it.  Then a strip of the yellow daisy paper was cut to 1 3/8″ x 4″.  It was mounted to a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock measuring 1 1/2″ x 4″.  I added the yellow strip along the bottom of the Whisper White panel.  The Night of Navy panel was then added to the panel at an angle.  To address the white square on the sketch I cut a piece of Whisper White that measured 2″ x 2″ and using Night of Navy ink I stamped the sentiment using a second generation stamping.  This was mounted onto a 2 1/8″ x 2 1/8″ square of Night of Navy card stock.  The sentiment panel was then added to the panel.  The panel was attached to a Daffodil Delight card base.  Using a Whisper White scrap paper I stamped the large and medium daisy using Night of Navy ink.  The coordinating punch was used to punch them out.  I also punched a large daisy out of Night of Navy card stock and the medium daisy out of vellum.  The daisies were then layered using glue dots to make my daisy element.  This was then added to the card front using dimensionals.  To address the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner I went shopping in my stash again.  I know you have some of those candy dots from a few years ago.  I found some Navy ones and using another #ShopYourCraftStash item I mounted them to the card front using the plastic piercing template that came with the piercing mat several years ago.  If you do not have any of the Delightful Daisy designer series paper, you can easily recreate this idea using the See a Silhouette or Noble Peacock Specialty designer series paper and use the coordinating ink color.  Here is my completed #ShopYourCraftStash creation.
