Mint Watercolor Hello

Good Morning Ladies!

Well I blew it!  I started working on my card to post today and when I had it finished I realized it is supposed to be Making Memories Monday.  If I can get my act together today I will make one to post.

Our Blizzard was unbelievable.  We did not loose electricity which is good as it was bitter cold and the winds were blowing.  It would be horrible to have to have our linemen out and up in buckets.  We also had to begin the long process of digging out.  I have a long lane to my house and the lane that I share with another house is also long.  Jess went out in the morning and spent a little over an hour shoveling.  She managed to get a 10 x 10 square shoveled.  It wasn’t even a dent in what had to be done.  I went out a little later and started shoveling the driveway for just the tires of the truck.  While I was shoveling the guy who clears our main road into the development came through.  I managed to flag him down and he plowed the lane I share and my driveway.  Thank goodness as we would be digging out for days!

I went checking out the challenge blogs as I knew I would need some inspiration for this week.  I found a great color challenge at Stampin’ Royalty Challenges

I was then intrigued by the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I thought it would be fun to work with.

I began by watercoloring my background with the Mint Macaron.  I used watercolor paper and spritzed it with water.  I then used an aqua painter to pick up the ink and colored the paper.  After I let it dry, I used the rings from the Timeless Textures and stamped them with Early Espresso in the upper left hand corner.  I then used Pink Pirouette ink and did a second generation stamping of the flourish from the set.  I used the “Hello” sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts and stamped it on top of the flourish.  I used the Duo Ticket punch to punch out the sentiment and did some creative punching to get a smaller ticket size.  I mounted the sentiment on the Pink Pirouette one I punched.  I then added the sentiment to the front of the card with dimensionals.  I decided to also add some Pink Pirouette chevron ribbon.  Here is my final creation.

I thought I would share a few pics I took yesterday in the late afternoon of what we got from the Blizzard.  After these photos were taken we got another 3 inches.

This was taken out my front door.

This was taken out my sunroom door at the back of the house.  In the background you can see my son-in-laws car buried in the snow.

Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be busy in my craft room today making cards for this week, my Making Memories page, and some samples for my upcoming Ronald McDonald house fund raiser.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Robbie
