Hello Stampers ~  Are you ready for a little Victorian Romance today?

I don’t know about you, but I hope the weather holds out for all the barbecues planned for today.  I am going to one this afternoon and I hope it does not rain.  If it does, I am sure we will have a good time anyway.

Victorian Romance

I have to admit this is not an area I felt I had enough background to pull it off.  With that in mind, I started thinking.  Victorian Romance to me says lace and flowers.  I knew the Falling in Love dsp had a piece that had lace on it.  I chose to start with that.  I then did some searching on You Tube and found several ideas for Victorian embellishments.  I decided to go with that idea.  I began with one of the Lace Doilies from the soon to be retired Occasions Catalog.  I used the Vanilla side.  To it I added a Pink Pirouette large scallop circle.  The next layer was a circle of Sahara Sand that I embossed with a retired polka dot embossing folder.  Then I pulled some of my ribbons and lace (some are retired) to create strips to layer on top.  These were attached with glue dots.  I pulled out a gold button and added one of the Falling in Love embellishments.  This was added with glue dots over where the ribbons cross.  To finish off my card I stamped my sentiment with Sahara Sand onto a piece of the Sending Love glassine sheet.  I sprinkled it with clear embossing powder as the ink does not dry on glassine sheets.  It was then heat set.  I punched it out with the new Pretty Label punch – Just so you know the shape is not the shape of my punched piece.  After I punched it I cut the top and bottom scallop off to give us another shape ~ 2 different punches from 1, great economical tool!  The sentiment was added to the card with a glue dot tucked under the ribbons.  Here is my completed creation.
